Hot Yoga Topics > Mind, Spirit, Body...What's the Connection?

This morning I feel jitters. I'm running on lack of sleep and I want so much to graduate Teacher Training and close this wonderful chapter and begin a new exciting one as a Hot Yoga Teacher. Introspectively, I keep prepaving the way I want my final to go... I prepave my energy and reread and reread my script. Yet, I find myself nervous... I'm keeping it clean this moment. I focus on what I want. I want to experience the joy of teaching... So as long as I focus on that I feel better. Any thoughts?

So much rich information in this post, Alex! You are showing the reason people don't manifest their dreams easily...or ever. It's a disconnect between mind, spirit and body.

No one wants lack, limitation, poverty, failure - but it is what many people get. Here's why:

Your mind (thoughts) sets the tone for your feelings (spirit) which determine how you live your life (body, or embody). No matter what you think or say (mind) it is what you FEEL (spirit) that is your biggest ally - or obstacle - to your physical life (body).

Notice how you say "I WANT...". In that wanting, there is longing and doubt - thus you feel jitters. So what do you attract? More things to feel jittery about. Spirit wins, as always.

In order to have (embody) the life you desire, you must get into the feeling (spirit) of already HAVING it. When you are a hot yoga teacher, for example, can you right now imagine (mind) the joy, the exhilaration, the pride, the empowerment, the happiness of it all (spirit)....that is where you must go right now. THAT is pre-paving.

Note that if you say (mind) you are looking forward to something but feel/express (spirit) nervousness, it shows that you don't truly believe that it is coming to you (body). There is the disconnect. You must live knowing that all you want is coming.

But this is the EXACT reason people don't get what they want - they say what they want, and then they negate it with worry, nervousness, jitters, wanting it to be over already, etc. Your feelings will determine what you manifest.

Here's is a suggestion: replace the word WANT. It has a negative connection to nervousness for you. Try DESIRE as in, Ahhhh....I desire to be a hot yoga teacher. If that word doesn't soften it for you, find another. But get the word WANT out of your particular vocabulary - it leads to a feeling of unrequited longing and worry for you.

Then imagine having what you desire right now - get into that spirit.

You don't have to "want to experience the joy of teaching" a moment longer - you can close your eyes and experience it in your imagination right now. Your mind knows NO DIFFERENCE between what you imagine and what is manifested - and when the images in your mind create feelings of joy, your physical life will express these in your life . Mind, spirit, body - that is the correct order for manifesting the life you desire.

What to do when you wake up with jitters? IGNORE IT. As you said," I focus on what I want (desire)". If you pay any attention to your jitters or elaborate on why you feel them, you are focusing on them. Stop that - unless you want more of them, and bigger.

I'm in my school library and I am so tempted to print and highlight lines in this post because it answers everything for me.... I notice what happens when I just ask right? :)

May I say "I Am"?

As in "I Am a Hot Yoga Teacher?

As in this is what I am born to do?

That statement makes me feel so confident and ready and excited....

Never ask anyone else these questions, Alex - why would you need to? The answers FOR YOU are inside you. Ask yourself if you may say I AM and see how it feels - instantly - and you will have your answer. If it is right for you it will feel good - anything from relief to happy. It it doesnt work for you, it will feel bad - anything from slight clench to grimace or pain. These are your unmistakeable answers FOR YOU. And they are right there inside you all the time.

When I say I am Teacher... I smile but I almost cry kind of... It's almost like damn I just won the lottery.

I'm sure you've heard this before, but most people are actually more afraid of success than of failure. We are schooled in failure - it is a familiar thing. We learn to avoid failure by avoiding risks; but we also feel a strange sort of familiarity and comfort in failure because we know what to expect. and there is fear of the unknown. Success is strange new territory and when you reach it, you know for sure you are responsible for yourself from there forward. It's no longer your mother's fault, or your teacher's fault, or your finances or your friends; you see that it is always YOU who takes you where you end up. This can be challenging to realize - especially if you grew up with a lot of disapproval and failure ideas about yourself - the moment when you feel or prove your success means that your parents/teachers/friends were wrong: you were always a success. The subconscious mind that wants to hang on to the familiar. But really - it is time to let go. The tears are your understanding of the truth about yourself: you already are a success and always were - now its time to apply that to the life you really want to live.
