Bedhead happiness

Good Morning, Bedhead.

I'm up before the sun. No alarm necessary.

And there is it.

I open my eyes and the last problem from yesterday is right there. Then comes another troubling thought.  And another. Then comes the To Do List that never ends.

Now I'm feeling it: the the downward spiral of impatience, stress, overwhelm.

But there is  a way to detour before you go down the road more traveled.

Bedhead Hot Yoga. 7AM.  Do not comb hair. Do not change out of PJs. Do not stop to think.

Just go.

Stretching, flexing, remembering how good it's supposed to feel to be awake in this body, in this life. Step right up and heat thing up early.

Welcome, Bedhead.  We're keeping your dreams warm.

The only thought you should be having is "what's on the playlist today?". :)

Love that thought, Laura, especially when you're teaching the class: you do create the best playlists - worth getting out of bed for every time!

I ve done the 6 am once. I have to say It was very different comparing to my night classes. However, I have done my 8am this morning. The whole day went perfectly well! I've done so much I've had so much energy. I loved the song that was on the playlist. It was awesome. I smiled so much today my face hurts. It is all good to start your day with a happy good feeling :).

"The best way to live your dreams is to heat them up early." I love that!
I used to row in college - only for a year. But we had to get up at 4 am every morning (EVERY morning!) for the entire rowing season, and by the time the sun would be rising, we would be in the middle of the river, seeing our breaths in clouds around our heads as we rowed in the silent NYC dawn. Those moments were my favorite, favorite, favorite. Getting to be in the glory of that sunrise was worth it. Worth even my complete hatred of waking up that early. My roommate's inevitable throwing of her pillow at my head because I could not (would not) hear the alarm. It was all worth it.

Waking up early for yoga is an even better reward. Awaking, stretching, and empowering the Sleeping Giant that is each of US is the best thing you can do for yourself. I have committed to the Wednesday 6 am BEDHEAD class, and I can't wait until it's become an old habit of mine :)

i want to be a bedhead so badly but lately i haven't been able to get out of bed before 8am during the week. i will set my alarm for 5:30 and hit snooze or just turn it off completely... and i did this 3 times last week. when i actually make it to a 6 am class i feel amazing all day and sleep like a baby that night. one of my goals in tt is to make it to at least 2 6am classes a week and i am wondering why i decided to make this one of my 3 goals. did i set myself up for failure? i can only blame myself for not getting out of bed...

There's a great line from the cult classic Rocky Horror Picture Show where he laments how hard life it and says, "Even smiling makes my face ache." Your comment made me laugh as much as this line from the movie!

Grace you were obviously born to be a Bedhead (you even have the Boticelli hair for it - the kind that looks best untamed).

In yoga and meditation traditions, the ritual is to rise at 3AM which is the best time to align with the calm of the earth and meditate easily. Many writers, artists and other creatives rise at this time and find it to be their most productive for creative flow.

Would be awesome to do a 4AM class which gets everyone up at 3 but alas, you might need an anvil thrown at your head to get you up at that time!

How about adding Mondays to your Wednesday BedHead attendance?

Danielle you're in luck: I asked Grace to step up and be our Lead Bedhead on Wednesdays: she send everyone an inspirational week up text at 5AM to get you to hot yoga class with a smile. Would you like to be added to the list? It's party time and you're invited

I found the 6 am classes are so empowering because just the fact I did is amazing. Last time I woke u at 5:15 and said to myself "There is no way.....! at 5:30 I said"Hm, maybe there is a way ?" Before I knew that I was out of bed, brushed my teeth, and on my way to my class. I had an awesome one with Aimee. It was very special ")
