Nothing doing!

A  recent study at the University of Virginia showed that most people would rather administer an electric shock to themselves than spend a mere 15 minutes with nothing to do.

What's so horrifying about doing nothing?

Psychologist Tim Wilson of the University of Virginia and his team of researchers asked college students to sit for 15 minutes in a plain room just thinking. He asked them to record how well they concentrated and how much they enjoyed the experience. Most  admitted that they couldn't concentrate; more than half hated it.

No wonder. Most people do with nothing better to do will spin some amazingly awful thoughts, mostly about themselves.

But these students even hated thinking positive; they just didn't like being alone with their own thoughts.

Were these ADD teens with Twitter-fingers? Not at all. The researchers also conducted texperiment with a middle-aged church group. The results? The same.

No one seemed to enjoy their thoughtful moments.

Now comes the shocking news: just how far will people go to avoid doing nothing?

Is yoga stressing you out?

Can yoga be stressful?

Sounds funny but...

The yoga teacher is telling me to meditate, to empty my mind in yoga class and... I CAN'T DO IT! And now I have one more thing on my To Do list: EMPTY MIND. Arghh!

Maybe I'll just quit yoga so I don't have to feel like a failure. But wait - isn't that why I started yoga in the first place?

Let's be honest: it takes enlightened beings lifetimes to learn to empty the mind...do they really think you'll do it spontaneously, while you're resting after yoga class?

Women tend to stress about everything, even those things that are supposed to be enjoyable. If you've ever fretted about finding time for yourself, you've worried about... relaxing.

Retracing the Roots of a Hot Yoga Reaction 

Retracements are temporary symptoms that occur during a deep healing regimen, like say, for instance, hot yoga.

Are you familiar with the healing phenomenon known as Retracement?  It means that during a deep healing, your body may literally choose to retrace/ go back/ relive those old infections, wounds, injuries, or other imbalances from the past, in order to clear them out fully this time around. 

Retracing can be about eliminating toxic substances, healing chronic infections, or clearing out old emotional wounds. It results in a metabolic increase in vitality.
